Thomas Nelson “Tom” Rogers, 64, Robinson, died Friday May 15, 2020, at 8:09 p.m. in the comfort of his residence with his family around him, following many months of failing health.
Born June 1, 1955, in Slade, Ky., he was one of 10 children born to Raymond and Allene (Stephens) Rogers. On May 14, 1968, he married Jo Anne Williams, and she preceded him in death Nov. 10, 2007.
Tom finished his working life with Stewart Security in Robinson, having previously worked as a union painter for SDR Coatings, Terre Haute. Prior to his time as a union painter, Tom worked in the oilfields in Southern Indiana and Southern Illinois for Illinois Spudding/Whitmer Oil Company as a driller.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, James S. and Waynette Rogers, Oblong; a daughter, Dottie Jo Rogers, Casey; brothers and sister-in-law, Raymond and Lona Rogers, Mt. Sterling, Ky., Daniel Rogers, Robinson; sisters and brother-in-law, Janice and Lloyd Smyth, Clay City, Ky., Shirley Bellamy, Stanton, Ky., Karen Benton, Robinson; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild, along with several nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his parents and wife, son Benjamin Thomas Rogers, sister Barbara Mays, twin brother and sister-in-law Philip and Phyllis Rogers and brothers David Rogers and Ronald Wayne Rogers.
He will be cremated with a Celebration of Life Service to be announced in the near term.
