Red Hill Invite Champs
Palestine-Hutsonville's boys' track team earned a share of the Red Hill Invitational championship Wednesday, as they won eight events and scored 135 points to tie with Red Hill for first place in the six-team event.

Maroons roll past Casey-Westfield, 8-1, for eighth straight win
Dominant performances continue to be the theme for Robinson High School's baseball team so far this season, as the Maroons rolled to yet another win Thursday (April 11).

The Maroons led from start to finish, scoring in every inning to down visiting Casey-Westfield, 8-1, in a Little Illini Conference contest.

Lady Maroons hold off Casey-Westfield for 7-6 win in 8 innings
It took an extra inning, but Robinson High School's softball team was able to pick up a big victory Thursday (April 11).

The Lady Maroons held an early lead, then let it slip away, only to rally to knock off visiting Casey-Westfield in eight innings, 7-6, in a Little Illini Conference contest.

Statesmen hammer Shawnee, 11-1
Runs continue to come in bunches for Lincoln Trail College's baseball team and the Statesmen got the pitching to back it up Thursday (April 11) on their way to a big conference win.

After scoring 23 runs in a doubleheader split Wednesday (April 10), LTC plated 11 more runs Thursday en route to an 11-1 win over Shawnee Community College in Great Rivers Athletic Conference play.

RHS boys' tennis blanks Newton, 9-0
The first home match of the season was near-perfection for Robinson High School's boys' tennis team.

Robinson rolled to another victory, blanking Newton 9-0 and winning every match in straight sets in less than ideal conditions (April 11).

" I am super proud of how we handled the wind tonight," RHS head coach Tom Buchanan said. " With 25 mph and gusts up to 35, the wind can really mess with the ball and a player's game. The ball was getting blown all over the court, but we stayed really focused and moved our feet well to get in the right position."

PH boys 1st, girls 4th, OHS 5th at RH Invite
Strong showings across the board earned Palestine-Hutsonville's boys' track team a piece of some hardware Wednesday night (April 10).

The Pioneers won eight events and piled up 135 points, which tied them for first along with host Red Hill at the annual Red Hill Invitational.

A pair of high-scoring games resulted in a split for Lincoln Trail College's baseball team Wednesday (April 10).

The Statesmen won the first game of a doubleheader at Franklin (Ind.) College JV, 13-8, but lost the nightcap 11-10.

Panthers falter late in 12-2 loss to Heritage-VG in LOVC SE play
A close game got away from Oblong High School's baseball team late and resulted in another lopsided loss.

The Panthers were right in the game until the bottom of the fifth, when a six-run outburst sent OHS to a 12-2 loss at the hands of Heritage-Villa Grove in a Little Okaw Valley Conference Southeast Division contest (April 10).

Maroons rally past Teutopolis, 5-3
Yet another test was passed with flying colors for Robinson High School's baseball team.

The Maroons faced their toughest challenge of the season to date Tuesday (April 9) and were able to come through with another victory, as they rallied past highly-regarded Teutopolis for a 5-3 victory in the non-conference contest.

Tigers win, Lady Tigers swept in DH
A fast start and a strong finish led Hutsonville-Palestine's baseball team to a big win Wednesday (April 10), while the softball team struggled to get going in a pair of losses.

On the baseball diamond, the Tigers jumped on top early and ran away for a 13-3 win over Union-Dugger, Ind., in a non-conference contest.

RHS boys 1st, PH 2nd in three-team meet
Crawford County athletes dominated the top of the standings in Tuesday (April 9)'s three-team track meet as Robinson and Palestine-Hutsonville's boys' teams combined to win all but one event.

The Maroons scored 11 victories to finish first, while Palestine-Hutsonville won six and finished second.

Robinson totaled 90.5 points in the meet, followed by Palestine-Hutsonville 45.5 and Olney 27.

Hutsonville-Palestine drops baseball, softball games at Lawrenceville
Two games resulted in two close losses, but they came in completely different fashions for Hutsonville-Palestine's baseball and softball teams Tuesday (April 9).

The Tigers and Lady Tigers both played non-conference games at Lawrenceville and came out on the short end of close decisions, with the Tigers falling 2-1 and the Lady Tigers dropping a 10-7 slugfest.
