Robinson's wrestling team didn't get the results they wanted Saturday, as they won just one of four matches against Indiana competition at the Sullivan, Ind. Duals.
The Maroons defeated the host school, Sullivan, 60-21, while losing to Northview, 65-18, Evansville Harrison 52-24 and Gibson Southern, 46-33.
"We should have at least went 2-2 on the day," RHS head coach Levi Damron said. "We have to get better at finishing our matches. It's getting near the end of the season and we have to continue to improve if we want to achieve our goals."
Robinson won 10 matches against Sullivan, six by pin and four by forfeit. Against Gibson Southern, the Maroons won six matches, five of them by pin and the other by decision. All four matches the Maroons won against Evansville Harrison were by pinfall, while Robinson won just three matches against Northview, but all were by pin.
Three Maroons finished the day with 3-1 records. Quentin Jones and Mike Smolinski won three of their four matches, all by pinfall, at 130 and 171, respectively, while Koby Decker scored two pins and one decision at 135. Ben Rardin went 2-1 at 215 with a pin and a forfeit, while a trio of Maroons also finished 2-2. Slater Stifle at 140 and Bennett Williams at 152 each scored two pinfall victories, while Francisco Avila picked up a pin and a forfeit at 189. Austin Dart (125), Walker McMillen (145), Mitch Thacker (160) and Joel Wise (285) all scored one pinfall win apiece, while Payton Stifle (103) and Zach Koontz (112) each scored a forfeit win.
Robinson also competed in a freshman tournament at Mt. Carmel on Saturday.
Geoffrey Harrison took first place at 189, while teammates Tanner Keeler and Peter Scott were third and fourth, respectively, in that weight class. Nick Iovanac finished second at 215, Curtis Herrington and Dylan Dart were third at 145 and 160, respectively and Andrew Gallagher finished sixth at 125.
Robinson will wrestle in the Apollo Conference Duals at Charleston Saturday at 9 a.m.
