Sports Editor

A former Robinson High School football standout has been chosen to participate in one of the longest-running all-star football games in Illinois.

Recent RHS graduate Nick Berty has been selected to play in the 40th annual Illinois High School Shrine Game in Bloomington next month.

The event, which is hosted jointly by the Illinois Coaches Association and Mohammed Shriners, is set up to have 88 all-star football players play in the annual event to represent the Illinois Coaches Association and to help support the mission Shriners Hospitals for Children.

Berty is listed as a linebacker on the East Team for the game, which will be played at Tucci Stadium on the campus of Illinois Wesleyan University Saturday, July 12, at 6:30 p.m.
