Underclass members of Robinson High School's track team fared well Monday at the Casey-Westfield Freshman-Sophomore Invitational.
Robinson picked up nine wins on the day - seven by the boys and two by the girls - and nine second-place finishes on the day. Team scores were not kept in the event.
Leading the way for the boys was Parker Bopp, who won the 400 with a time of 56.00 and the long jump at 19-7.25. Noah Tennison won the 800 in 2:08.37, Henry Treadway won the 1600 in 5:03.83, Garrett Hays won the triple jump at 38-6.5, the 1600 relay team of Ethan Hose, Hays, Bopp and Tennison won in 3:46.72 and the 3200 relay team of Tennison, Treadway, Gordon Pinkston and Joey Wright won in 9:17.59.
Second-place finishers included Wright in the 800 (2:09.33), Landon Tracy in the 3200 (13:20.12) and the 400 relay team of Hose, Bopp, Duncan McDonald and Garrett Blagrave (47.02), while finishing third was Jace Logan in the 110 hurdles (18.15).
Oblong also fared well in the boys' meet, led by Haze Lemmon, who won the shot put at 38-5, was third in the high jump at 5-4 and fifth in the 110 hurdles (21.14) and triple jump (32-5).
Avery Inboden was also third in the triple jump (34-6), as was Bryan Cross in the long jump (16-7), while the 800 relay team of Dalton Noblit, Inboden, Drew Reider and Cross was fifth (1:44.75), the 400 relay team of Noblit, Inboden, Reider and Cross was sixth (50.30) and Lance Newcomb was sixth in the shot put (32-8).
In the girls' meet, Robinson won a pair of events, with Kalee Childress finishing first in the 300 hurdles in 52.71 and Stephanie Hawkins winning the 1600 in 6:23.14.
Finishing second for the Lady Maroons were Sydney Beard in the 100 hurdles (17.59), Courtney Callaway in the 800 (2:44.24), Sabrina Malone in the 3200 (18.10.18), Hawkins in the pole vault (7-6), Emily Keeler in the shot put (32-0) and the 800 relay team of Childress, Lexi Gower, Josie Goff and Beard (2:01.20).
Third-place finishers for RHS were Beard in the 100 (13.79), Mykala Wolf in the high jump (4-8), Kelsey Hetzler in the pole vault (6-6), Goff in the long jump (12-11), Keeler in the discus (86-7), Gower in the triple jump (28-0), the 400 relay team of Jordan Mikeworth, Gower, Beard and Kayleh Correll (56.46), the 1600 relay team of Shelby Bruner, Goff, Childress and Callaway (4:49.03) and the 3200 relay team of Hawkins, Malone, Allison Kite and Bruner (12:31.65).
