Another strong performance netted Robinson High School's boys' track team another win in what turned out to be a four-team meet on an unseasonably blustery day at the track Tuesday.
The Maroons picked up wins in 11 of 18 events on their way to racking up 139 points to coast to an easy win. Casey-Westfield finished second with 62 points, followed by Olney with 49 and Palestine-Hutsonville with 17.
Robinson had wins in seven individual events, led by Garrett Blagrave's two victories. Blagrave won the 100 with a time of 11.56 and took first in the 200 with a time of 23.60. Michael Akande won the 110 hurdles in 15.59, Parker Bopp finished first in the 400 in 54.36, Henry Treadway won the 1600 in 5:16, Noah Tennison won the 3200 in 10:51.76 and Garrett Hays finished first in the triple jump with a distance of 36-5.
The Maroons also won all four relay races. The 400 team of Phil Salesman, Bopp, Joe Smith and Blagrave finished first with a time of 47.54, the 800 relay team of Ethan Hose, Smith, Slater Martin and Blagrave won in 1:39.73, the 1600 relay team of Hays, Jace Logan, Cole Fiscus and Tennison won in 3:59.39 and the 3200 relay team of Tennison, J.B. Chapman, Treadway and Gordon Pinkston won in 9:35.53.
Second-place finishers for RHS included Smith in the 100 (11.94) and long jump (19-5), Jason Richart in the discus (120-3), Derek Keeler in the shot put (42-2.5), Seth Keeler in the pole vault (12-6), Hays in the 300 hurdles (45.88), Pinkston in the 1600 (5:23.97) and Cole Fiscus in the 3200 (11:26.89). Finishing third were Jace Logan in the 110 hurdles (18.77) and 300 hurdles (46.60), Bopp in the long jump (19-2.75), Salesman in the triple jump (34-8.5), Richart in the shot put (40-7.5), Chapman in the 400 (57.85), Joey Wright in the 800 (2:18.08) and Landon Tracy in the 1600 (5:49.02).
Leading the way for Palestine-Hutsonville was Nathan Kiger with a first-place finish in the high jump at 5-11, while Andrew Gray was third in the high jump at 5-5.
Also finishing third were the 400 relay team of Kiger, Riley Ogle, Dawson Ferguson and Richard Miller in 51.72 and the 800 relay team of Kiger, Ferguson, Miller and Cameron Green in 1:45.69.
Luke Decker was fourth in the 800 (2:29.91) and fifth in the 1600 (6:33.88), Gray was fifth in the 110 hurdles (21.62), Miller was fifth in the long jump (17-2.5) and Ferguson was sixth in the long jump (16-7.75).
Robinson will compete in the Newton Freshman-Sophomore Invitational Monday at 4:30 p.m., before hosting the annual Robinson Invitational Friday, April 25, at 4 p.m. Palestine-Hutsonville will compete in a meet at North Knox, Ind., Monday at 4 p.m.
