Nuttall Middle School's cross country team had a solid start to the season Saturday, as the boys' team won the Cumberland Invitational and the girl's squad finished fourth.
In the boys' meet, Robinson had three finishers in the top 10 on their way to scoring 46 points and edge past second-place Teutopolis, who scored 54.
Lukas Baird was the top finisher for NMS, as he placed third with a time of 12:51. Cole Waggoner was next with a fifth-place finish in 13:08, while Kobe Lorance was seventh in 13:25. Also scoring for NMS were Wyatt Bonnell with his 15th-place finish in 13:52 and Trayton Tragesser with a 16th-place effort in 13:54.
Other runners for NMS included Levi Hodge (29th 14:56), Dylan Smith (30th 15:01), Logan Sexton (31st 15:07), Chance Black (40th 16:29) and Lucas Blunier (70th 20:42).
In the girls' meet, Robinson had two runners finish in the top 10, as they scored 95 points to finish fourth, well behind champion Effingham St. Anthony, who won with 36 points.
Sami Jo Johnson was the top finisher for NMS, as she finished ninth in 15:12, while Lauren Weber was 10th in 15:39.
Gracie Shidler finished 28th in 16:53, Amber Hillard was 33rd in 17:20, Emily Hyre was 35th in 17:33, Alaina Harp was 39th in 17:51 and Hannah Rich was 47th in 19:43.
Robinson will run at Teutopolis Thursday at 4:15 p.m.
