Robinson High School's boys' tennis team may be playing their best tennis at the right time of the season.
Coming off a strong showing at the Little Illini Conference Tournament Saturday, the Maroons put in a dominating performance Monday, as they whipped host Paris, 9-0.
The Maroons won eight of the nine matches in straight sets, with only No. 6 singles needing to go three.
Robinson's top three players cruised to wins, as Brennan Buchanan beat Collin Sherer at No. 1, 6-1, 6-1, Curtis White won at No. 2 over Mike Wells 6-1, 6-0 and Dylan White won at No. 3 over Aaron Garver 6-0, 6-1.
At No. 4, Nick Sandschafer rolled past Shawn Thomas for a 6-4, 6-1 win, Tom Goodman scored a 6-4, 6-3 win over J.D. Hasler at No. 5 and Conner Weber outlasted Jon Underwood at No. 6, 6-4, 3-6, 6-4.
In doubles play, the White twins scored a 6-1, 6-1 win at No. 1, Buchanan and Weber teamed up for a 6-0, 6-2 win at No. 2 and Sandschafer and Goodman picked up a 6-2, 6-0 victory at No. 3.
"It was great for our freshmen to pick up some wins tonight," RHS head coach Tom Buchanan said. "Tom and Conner won their first varsity matches. They are doing a great job constructing points and moving their opponents around the court. Each of them were able to zone in on an opponents weakness and exploit it."
Robinson was also perfect in five junior varsity matches, as James Hillard and Duncan Fiscus each won two matches and Jacob Britton won one.
