The regular season had a positive ending for Hutsonville-Palestine's boys' basketball team, which they hope to carry over into the postseason.

The Tigers closed out the regular season by celebrating Senior Night with a 67-58 win over Edwards County in Little Illini Conference play.

Hutsonville-Palestine also got a measure of revenge with the victory, as they avenged a 77-71 loss to the Lions in the LIC Tournament Jan. 21.

The Tigers started the game strong, but needed a late surge to secure the win.

Hutsonville-Palestine jumped out to a 17-8 lead after one quarter, then outscored Edwards County 13-11 in the second quarter to extend their advantage to 30-19 at halftime. Edwards County responded in the third quarter, outscoring the Tigers 22-12 to close the gap to 42-41 heading into the fourth quarter. However, Hutsonville-Palestine countered by outscoring the Lions 25-17 over the final eight minutes to ensure the victory.

Graham Alspach led Hutsonville-Palestine with 24 points, 16 of which came in the first half, while Dylan Webster was also in double figures with 15 points, including nine in the fourth quarter. Joe Eckert tossed in nine points for the Tigers, Landon Williams scored eight, Tyler Heflin netted seven and Matt Schmidlin added four.

Jonah Laws led three players in double figures for Edwards County with 26 points, while Mitch Lear and Kevin Schuh added 12 and 10 points, respectively.

In the junior varsity game, Hutsonville-Palestine held on for a 54-50 win.
