"It is impressive what is possible when people cooperate," then-U.S. Sen. Barack Obama said as he toured the Lincolnland Agri-Energy ethanol plant in 2006.

Saturday, LincolnLand will celebrate the 10th anniversary of the plant's opening with an open house. It also will celebrate what a community can do when everyone pulls together.

The periodic projects have been compared to a car tune-up. During a turnaround, contract workers and refinery employees take units off line and isolate them from the rest of the facility. They are cleaned, repaired and updated, re-assembled and tested before being going back on line.

City of Robinson and Hershey employees respond to a leak of sugar into the storm sewer and a creek that runs from the vicinity of the plant, across Locust Street and past Washington Elementary School.
