The Illinois Eastern Community Colleges District is opening up the search for a new chancellor.
IECC Board of Trustees Chairman G. Andrew Fischer announced today an open invitation for applications for the position.
It was explained IECC is searching for "a leader who can build on our history, while inspiring and championing a collective vision for the future."
The chancellor will succeed Terry Bruce, who served more than 23 years as IECC's chief executive officer before his retirement in June.
Responsibilities include working with the board, articulating and promoting a vision and values and leading strategic, collaborative efforts to expand and enhance educational opportunities and services for students and communities.
The chancellor will serve as a highly-visible advocate for the district and will be expected to inspire employees to ensure academic excellence, provide fiscally astute leadership and participate in the legislative process.

Candidates must provide a cover letter, current resume including references, a one-page statement of leadership philosophy, three or more letters of reference; and academic transcripts.
