Nearly thirty Crawford County 4-H'ers exhibited their livestock and general projects at this year's Illinois State Fair Aug. 8-18 in Springfield. Several Crawford County 4-H'ers were recognized as award winners in their divisions.
Those placing in the 4-H Jr. Livestock Division included: Beef, Angus Heifer: Cody York - 3rd and 7th and Tyler Musgrave - 4th and 7th; Low % Simmental Heifer: Camryn Travis - 6th; Maintainer Heifer: Ashtin Guyer - 1st, 2nd and Jr. Champion; Polled Hereford Heifer: Jacob Fiscus - 4th; Shorthorn Plus Heifer: Ashton Guyer - 1st and Jr. Champion; Simmental Heifer: Camryn Travis - 3rd. Swine, Crossbred Barrows: Ashtin Guyer - 1st; Hampshire: Ashtin Guyer - 1st, 2nd and Jr. Reserve Champion; Crossbred Gilts: Ashtin Guyer - 1st and Jr. Champion; Duroc: Ashtin Guyer - 2nd; Hereford: Jalyn Collier - 4th; Sheep, Commercial Ewe Lamb: Summer Weger - 2nd; On-Foot Crossbred Wether: Summer Weger - 1st and 8th; Beef, Showmanship: Cody York - 3rd; Goats, Jr. Boer Wether: Blake Knoblett - 2nd; Jr. Boer Market Doe: Blake Knoblett - 1st, Morgan Knoblett - 3rd; Market Boer Jr. Showmanship: Morgan Knoblett - Reserve Grand Champion.
Twenty-four 4-H'ers who were selected at the Crawford County 4-H Fair to exhibit their general projects participated in conference judging. Six 4-H'ers were selected to receive a "Superior" rating including: Iva Correll in Woodworking 2; Cameron Davis in Woodworking 1; Caitlyn Drury in Photography 1; Clayton Mendenhall in Welding; Jade Monroe in Visual Arts; and Samuel Rains in Tractor C.
Award of Excellence ribbons were presented to the following 4-H'ers: Carson Adams in Robotics; Payton Akers in Computer Science; Zoey Beabout in Food Decorating; Cadance Briley in STEAM Clothing; Charlie Burkett in Photography; Emma Davis in STEAM Clothing; Reeve Dennis in Interior Design; Greyson Holscher in Welding; Riliegh Howard in Cooking; Morgan Knoblett in Interior Design; Peyton Krick in Food Preservation; Kelsey Lanham in Leadership; Jackson Littlejohn in Computer Science; Patrick McGovern in Citizenship; Allison Meese in Shopping in Style; Sophie Stark in Photography; Summer Weger in Visual Arts; and Valerie Wright in Veterinary Science.
