Crawford Memorial Hospital is preparing a big celebration for the completion of the new Oblong Rural Health Clinic.
The hospital is planning a public open house and cookout at the facility, west of the Oblong Dollar General on Illinois Route 33, from 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday. Tours will be available.
The clinic will offer more space and more health care providers than the current facility. Construction began in July after the CMH board awarded a contract to Hannig Construction to handle the project.
The new clinic could be open as soon as June 30. The goal is to move in June 26 and 27.
The open house will likely be a topic of discussion at the next CMH board meeting. Board members will meet at 5:15 p.m. Wednesday in the CMH executive board room.
