Holiday-event focus turns to churches next week
Local children still have time to tell Santa Claus what they want this Christmas.

Santa will be at Kringle Korner from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday and 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday, Sunday and Monday.

Local churches have several special services scheduled for the coming week.

Hutsonville First Christian Church will have a Christmas program at 10:30 a.m. Sunday.

Olive Branch Baptist Church, rural Martinsville, will have an evening service consisting of Christmas songs, poems and readings Sunday and a Christmas Eve candlelight service at 6 p.m. Tuesday.

Oak Ridge United Methodist Church will have a candlelight service at 6 p.m. Sunday.

Flat Rock United Methodist Church will present a Christmas comedy at 7 p.m. Sunday. Everyone may attend.

Robinson First Baptist Church will have a Christmas Eve candlelight service at 6 p.m. Tuesday. Oblong First Christian Church will have a candlelight service at the same time. St. Mary's Episcopal Church, Robinson, also will have services at that time.

Christmas Eve candlelight communion service at Palestine First Presbyterian Church is 7 p.m. Tuesday.

Highland Church of Christ will have Christmas Eve services at 6:45 and 8 p.m. Tuesday.

Christmas Vigil masses are 7 p.m. Tuesday at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Oblong, and 10 p.m. at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, Robinson. Christmas Day Mass will be 8 and 10 a.m. at St. Elizabeth.

Robinson First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) will have a candlelight service at 11 p.m. Tuesday. Everyone may attend.

A free Christmas dinner, with ham, turkey and trimmings is 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Christmas Day at Outer West Market Church of Christ, 803 W. Market, Palestine. Delivery will also be available by calling 586-2149 or 586-5459.

The meal is sponsored by Palestine First Christian Church, Palestine First Presbyterian Church, Pleasant View Church, Palestine First United Methodist Church, Grace United Methodist Church, Robinson Highland Church of Christ, Flat Rock United Methodist Church, Cross Ties Christian Ministries, Outer West Market Church of Christ and Oak Grove Church.

A New Year's Vigil Mass is Dec. 31, at 5:30 p.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes. New Year's Day Mass is at 9 a.m. at St. Elizabeth.

The Senior Citizens' Winter Party is 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 4, at the Robinson Community Center.

Gift and monetary donations for door prizes may be taken to Robinson Chamber Office by Dec. 16. Churches are asked to have their cookie donations at the Robinson Community Center by 10 a.m. on Jan. 4.
