Jolie Finkbiner takes the Zwermann Theater stage at Lincoln Trail College Friday night as New York matchmaker Dolly Levi, in the theater department's production of "Hello Dolly!"

Written by Jerry Herman and Michael Stewart, this classic Tony Award-winning musical is based on "The Matchmaker" by Thornton Wilder and tells the story of a New York matchmaker who sets her own cap for her half-a-millionaire client, Horace Vandegelder. Set in New York and Yonkers in the 1890s, this famous musical features the title song, "Hello Dolly," "Before the Parade Passes By" and "Put on Your Sunday Clothes." Carol Channing and Barbara Streisand are best known for their portrayals of the fast-talking, conniving, Dolly.

LTC Director of Theater Barbara Shimer has cast Steven Bruce as Cornelius Hackl, with Justin Richards appearing as his sidekick, Barnaby. The role of Irene Molloy is portrayed by Kathleen Moore, and her shop assistant, Minnie, by Amy Judy. Dana Wachtel plays Ernestina, and Brennen Tracy appears as Ambrose Kemper. Lauren Wiseman appears as Kemper's fiancé, Ermengarde.

Costumer Carey Schiller and Mary Arabatgis hit he mark with Edwardian costume colors and design.

Tom Moore captains the Harmonia Gardens waiters as they prove they are the fastest waiters in town. The rest of the supporting cast brings humor and color to strong lead actors who bring their own unique qualities to the well-known residents of Yonkers.

Other cast members include: Margarita Armashu, Dustin Borders, Mary Ann Catt, Anita Cohoon, Will Devin, Sarah Drake, Destin Finkbiner, Eduardo Gonzalez, Brady Hall, Sophia Khalid, Sarah Kennedy, Jace and Nichole Logan, Janet and Sydney Mitchell, Gina Sinclair, Sammi Shafer, Rose Shields, Hannah Songer, Joseph Stambaugh, Dennis Steckley, Angelina Throckmartin, Gaytha Vail, Lauren Wagoner, Mindi Williamson and Alan Wiseman.

The production is under the musical direction of Jeshua Franklin and Jim Rogers, Technical director is Larry Quick, and costumers are Cary Schiller and Mary Arabatgis.

"Hello Dolly" opens tonight at 7 and runs Saturday and Sunday and April 12-13 in LTC's Zwermann Arts Center Theater. For more information, or to buy tickets, call the Performing Arts Office at 618-544-8657, ext. 1433.
