The Village of Hutsonville will hold two electrical aggregation plan and opt-out hearings this month.
During Tuesday night's meeting the village board set the time a date for two hearings on the electrical aggregation plan and opt-out option for 7 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 26. Village Clerk Tina Callaway said the meeting will be run by Good Energy, who will explain the plan and opt-out program.
The village approved the vacating of an alleyway on the north east part of the town east of N. Pleasant St. A property owner along the alleyway has recently purchased property on the other side and asked for the alleyway to be vacated. The alleyway was closed years ago and no utilities are located along it.
Summer Recreation representatives Cory Sheets and Jodi Draper reported that the lights at the downtown ball diamond are in rough condition and in need of replacement. Sheets reported that all of the metal poles are very rusty and some are missing guide wires. Several of the lights are also no longer working.
Sheets said initial estimates for replacing all of the lights, poles and other equipment is around $35,000. They wanted to make the village aware of the situation, and ask for their support in pursuing grants and donations.
The consolidated election will be held Tuesday, April 9. Three village trustees seats and the village president's seat are up for re-election.
