12/18/2019 10:11:00 AM Haters, whiners and cowards are taking over
Has America turned from being the land of milk and honey to that of hate, whining and protesting? I know I watch too much news both on the web and TV but I can't help but think that America has fundamentally changed in the past 10-20 years. You can't look anywhere without finding someone who hates some other group or wants to whine about how they feel or wants to protest some trivial outrage they have.
Think about what Twitter has become. (I don't have one.) It's just a place for someone to post how they personally feel about whatever makes them feel bad today. Or, to blast someone else who doesn't share the same opinion as them. A lot of this is done under the veil of anonymity which makes it worse as they can hide who they are or just not face the consequences of posting such nonsense. Also I think there are people who think that they become important or famous because they cause an uproar about something as trivial as what the first lady wore today. Fifteen minutes of fame for a Tweet?
Some of the protests we see today are also driven by the haters and whiners. Most want to wear masks so they can cause trouble without being identified. These are the real cowards. If they had the courage of their convictions they would proudly announce who they are and what they stand for.
I know there are people out there who think I'm being hypocritical since I'm writing about what annoys me, but at least I'm willing to put my name on the bottom of this letter. And - if you don't like what I say here - feel free to write you own letter to the editor. Just have the courage to put your name to it.
