Berty a civic-minded mentor, 'go-to guy'
A man instrumental in the creation of the Robinson Enterprise Zone and the development of the city's parks has died.

Robert Berty, 81, a civic, business and economic development leader here for 50 years, died Tuesday at Good Samaritan Hospital, Vincennes, following several weeks of failing health.

City council approves intergovernmental agreement on enterprise zone
The Robinson City Council approved a new enterprise zone agreement, as well as an agreement with Ameren Energy and also made plans for upcoming events on Tuesday.

However, the meeting started off with sorrow after Mayor Roger Pethtel said that former Crawford County Development Association Executive Director Bob Berty died earlier in the day.

RHS girls' tennis beats Charleston, 8-1
Another strong performance led to another one-sided victory for Robinson High School's girls' tennis team Wednesday (Sept. 12), as they cruised past Charleston, 8-1.

"The final match score was not an indication of how close and competitive the matches were tonight," RHS head coach Steve Jenkins said.

Clothing Center gets 'gross' donations

The Clothing Center Workshop, a Matthew: 25 Ministry, on Outer East Main Street, was founded in 1966 by the Robinson Lions Club (and is still supported by the Lions Club). Since its founding, it has been operated in several different locations due to such things as availability, cost, expanding business, and various other factors. The current dilemma, expanding business, is the subject matter of this letter.
